ELA: Running the Depreciation Close Process (AM_DPCLOSE) Process for a Period After a Lease Is Canceled Creates LEX (Lease Expense) Accounting Entries (Doc ID 2899540.1)

Symptoms

Running the Depreciation Close Process (AM_DPCLOSE) process for a period after a lease is canceled creates LEX (Lease Expense) Accounting Entries


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1. Create a new Operating Payables Lease
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Create New Payables Lease
2. Run the Generate Straightline Process
Navigation: Lease Administration > Integrations > Generate SL Schedule
3. Calculate the Depreciation and create the Accounting Entries
Navigation: Asset Management > Depreciation > Processing > Calculate Depreciation
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Create Accounting Entries
4. Cancel the Lease in the same period it was created and expire the underlying Asset
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Maintain Payables Lease
5. Run the Generate Straightline Process
6. Calculate the Depreciation, create the Accounting Entries
7. Close the Depreciation for a future period (that falls in between the lease Cancelation Date and the Lease Termination Date)
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Close Depreciation
8. Notice that the Depreciation Close process generated LEX Accounting Entries for this period
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries . Review Financial Entries
