2023- 2024 Mass EFC Calculation Stops Processing When Encountering a Record With an Assumption Made on Student or Parent Taxes Paid
(Doc ID 2901236.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When running the Mass EFC Calculation process, it will stop processing when encountering a record in the batch where an assumption is made for the taxes paid student or taxes paid parent. In these situations, the process will "hang" and will need to be manually stopped.
The on-line calculation will similarly not work for the same student, for the same reason.
After stopping the batch process, the following messages are observed in the AE_SFA_NAC_PDRM .stdout file.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- The Mass EFC Parallel Processing Setup is enabled (Set Up SACR --> Install --> Financial Aid Installation)
- Define the Global Policy Options for the EFC 2023-2024 Aid Year (Set Up SACR --> Product Related --> Financial Aid --> Application Processing --> EFC 2023-2024 Global Options) check the Calculate Student Federal Tax, Calculate Parent Federal Tax and Calculate PC for Independent checkboxes and save the page.
- Ensure that ISIR records have been loaded for the 2023-2024 Aid Year.
- Create a new run control ID and update the run control page based on the calculation requirements. (Financial Aid --> File Management --> Mass EFC Calculation).
- Run the process and click the Process Monitor link to note that the process doesn't finish.
- Manually stop the process, and review the AE_SFA_NAC_PDRM .stdout file.
Changes
The issue is seen after applying the fixes associated with the 2023-2024 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR ISIR, delivered originally in Patch 33234548 and then in CS 9.2 PUM Image 27.
