Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2022

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a User tries to login to the system with an expired password the system prompts them to change the password. The change password page shows 'Search' icon, if the User attempts to click the icon it causes a fault in the page where it keeps spinning.

Steps to replicate:

1. Login as an Administrator

2. Go to PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profile

3. Select a user and switch ON the ‘Password expired’ checkbox

4. Save

5. Log out

6. Try logging in as the user

7. You will get ‘your password has expired’ page. Click the link to change the password

8. On the change password page, Search icon appears.

Please Note: At this point the user hasn’t logged into the system yet, the Search icon should not appear giving the appearance that the user has the ability to search for the data although the user can't search. If a search is attempted the page freezes and can only be restored upon doing a hard return in the URL bar or a refresh.
