Campus Solutions 9.0 to 9.2 Upgrade Considerations (Doc ID 2906701.1)

Details

Campus Solutions 9.2 Upgrade Image 4 was released in May, 2020.  This upgrade image is delivered on PeopleTools 8.58.03, and allows customers to upgrade to Campus Solutions 9.2 PUM Image 8, which is equivalent to Campus Solutions 9.0 Bundle 48.  The Campus Solutions Upgrade Image is available at 'PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Upgrade Home Page (Doc ID 2078564.2)'

NOTE:  PeopleTools 8.58.03 will be the last certified release for this application upgrade. It is recommended that to perform your application upgrade using a certified PeopleTools release, since upgrading using a later PeopleTools release will be unsupported.


A certified upgrade from Campus Solutions 9.0 to Campus Solutions 9.2 requires:

  1. the Upgrade source image and Campus Solutions 9.0 copy of production must be on the identical PeopleTools release;
  2. the Upgrade source image does not have a PeopleTools upgrade applied.  The image must be used at the version of PeopleTools it is delivered on.

Actions

Campus Solutions 9.0 customers who have not yet upgraded to 9.2, but plan to, need to consider the above requirements for upgrading.  If an upgrade is being planned, do not upgrade Campus Solutions 9.0 to beyond PeopleTools 8.58.03.

In addition, consideration needs to be given to the PeopleTools versions delivered with Campus Solutions 9.2 PUM images.  Three versions of PeopleTools clients are delivered with a PUM image.  The current PUM image, PUM 27, is delivered with PeopleTools 8.57.24, 8.58.19 and 8.59.09.  As new versions of PeopleTools become available, PUM images will be delivered with the new PeopleTools client, and the oldest PeopleTools client will no longer be delivered in the image.  As an example, when PeopleTools 8.60 is available, Campus Solutions PUM images will no longer contain the PeopleTools 8.57 client.  Customers who have applied maintenance to Campus Solutions 9.0 beyond Bundle 48 will need to consume maintenance from the current PUM image to bring them to the equivalent codeline on the Campus Solutions 9.2 upgraded environment.  The Tools 8.58 client delivered with PUM images will no longer be available in the future once the next major PeopleTools version is released.
