GPUK: Employees are Being Enrolled When Ineligible For Re-enrollment (Doc ID 2910038.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 21, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Global Payroll UK - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The employees are being auto-enrolled even though they are being assessed with the status "Not re-enrolled - earnings not eligible or age not eligible".
According to the UK Pension Regulator, the scenarios to be handled in the Pension Re-enrollment process are the following:

Scenario 1: If an worker who was previously enrolled or opted-out or ceased and whose earnings are not eligible at the time of re-enrollment, will not be assessed until the next cyclical re-enrollment period.
Scenario 2: If an worker is opted out within 1 year before the date of re-enrollment shall not be assessed until the next cyclical re-enrollment.
Scenario 3: If the worker was never enrolled and is not eligible on the re-enrollment date must be enrolled whenever the employee becomes eligible.

Steps to replicate the issue:

1. Navigate to Set Up HCM > Product Related > Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Pensions > Qualifying Pension Scheme GBR > Qualifying Pension Scheme GBR and select an employee who had opted out/cease prior to 12 months before the re-enrollment staging date.
2. Navigate to Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Payee Data > Pension Information > Assign Scheme GBR > Assign Scheme GBR and check the employee’s pension record.
2. Navigate to Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Absence and Payroll Processing > Pension Auto Enrollment GBR Auto Pension Enrollment GBR and run the re-enrollment.
3. Navigate to Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Payee Data > Pension Information > Assign Scheme GBR > Assign Scheme GBR and Check Assign Scheme.
Notice that the Assessment row under Re-enrollment row was added as expected.
4. Now run auto-enrollment process outside of re-enrollment as part of normal BAU.
5. Check Assign Scheme.
