Symptoms
Incorrect Depreciation is calculated after Salvage Value adjustment with Life to Date Convention if the Asset has prior Cost Transfers and Recategorizations.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create an Asset without Salvage Value and Calculate the Depreciation
Navigation 1: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Owned Assets > Express Add
Navigation 2: Asset Management > Depreciation > Processing > Calculate Depreciation
2. Transfer the Asset to a Different Chartfield and Calculate the Depreciation
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Financial Transactions > Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset
3. Recategorize the Asset and Calculate the Depreciation
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Financial Transactions > Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset
4. Add a Salvage Value Using Life to Date (LD) Convention and Calculate the Depreciation.
Navigation: Asset Management > Asset Transactions > Financial Transactions > Cost Adjust/Transfer Asset
5. Review the Depreciation Entries
Navigation: Asset Management > Depreciation > Review Depreciation Info > Asset Depreciation
