Mass EFC Calculation AE_SFA_NAC_PDRM .Stdout File is Excessively Large and Contains Personal Information
(Doc ID 2913708.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When running the Mass EFC Calculation process, the amount of information written to the .stdout files is excessive and well exceeding any other standard Financial Aid batch process, including what has been produced in the past for the INAS Batch Calculation. A similar volume of information is also written to the app server log file when any on-line calculation is invoked.
In addition to the volume, the .stdout also includes sensitive/personal information like SSN, which has no bearing on the functionality being performed.
It's expected that the log should produce information of a reasonable amount similar to all other application engine and cobol log files, including past INAS batch files; and personal information like SSN should not be included unless it is contextual (such as with ISIR load or another process that uses SSN as part of the search/match criteria).
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > Mass EFC Calculation and run the process.
- Review the AE_SFA_NAC_PDRM output file (.stdout).
Changes
The issue is seen after applying Peoplesoft Release Patchset (PRP) 34644566 - UPDATED 2024 FEDERAL METHODOLOGY (FM) JAR FILE.
