Symptoms

Looking at the delivered Ledger Template for Project Costing chartfields, 'BD_PROJECT' [Navigation: General Ledger > Ledgers > Define Ledger Templates] when try to add a new Ledger Template like the delivered Ledger Template BD_PROJECT, the page requires populating the third ledger temp table yet the third ledger temp table is blank in the delivered Ledger Template BD_PROJECT. Need the new template to be the same as the delivered template with blank in third ledger temp table.

STEPS:
1.Add new ledger template, e.g. TESTPROJ, same as the existing ledger template BD_PROJECT
a.On the Record Definitions tab:
--select Project Budget Ledger, click Default button so that all the same field values as in BD_PROJECT default into the new template
b.Click on the Field Definitions tab:
--populate the Combo Edit Template with 'JOURNALS'
c.Back to Record Definitions tab, click Save
d.Get error message "A record name is required" that does not allow you to save the new ledger template, even though it has the same values as in the delivered ledger template BD_PROJECT
e.Found that it was necessary to populate the third ledger temp table in the new template; only then could the new template be saved
