ISIR Computed Budget Duration - BUDGET_DURATION Field on ISIR_COMPUTED and FAN_ISIR_CMP_VW - Remains 0 After FM EFC Calculation in Aid Year 2024 (Doc ID 2914541.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When calculating the FM EFC for any ISIR Record loaded in Aid Year 2024, the ISIR computed budget duration field - initially set to 0 at the time of the ISIR load - is not getting updated by the FM EFC Calculator.

In 2023 and prior aid years, the FM INAS calculation would always update the field from 0 to the value defined for the student - in Global Options or FM Extensions; it's assumed the same behavior would carry forward in Aid Year 2024. As a result, any equation engine equations previously written to incorporate this field could produce incorrect results in Aid Year 2024.

The budget duration on the award period record (STDNT_AWD_PER or FAN_AWD_PER_VW) is still being updated as expected for Aid Year 2024, compared to prior years.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run query of ISIR_COMPUTED.BUDGET_DURATION (or same field on FAN_ISIR_CMP_VW) for AID_YEAR 2024 and 2023.
  2. If necessary run FM EFC Calculation (2024) and FM INAS (2023) on any student for comparison.
  3. Note all records in 2024 show 0 before and after the EFC is calculated, whereas 2023 shows value value > 0 after FM INAS is calculated.
