Goal

Can we copy the existing PS_APP_HOME on Solaris to Linux with standard OS tools like (tar/gzip/scp/sftp) and then recompile PS_APP_HOME Cobols on Linux?

 

Additional Details

Here is the plan

(a) Install PeopleTools on Linux using by downloading the correct Linux version from MOS Patch and Update (w.g. with DPK)

(b) Create a tar/gzip file of the Solaris PS_APP_HOME (and also PS_CUST_HOME)

(c) Copy the archive file with scp or sftp to Linux

(d) Uncompress/Expand the archive file on Linux to create the PS_APP_HOME

(e) Recompile PS_APP_HOME Cobols
