E-ES: Additional APPSRV_MMDD.LOG Created Under Process Scheduler Log Directory In PeopleTools 8.59 (Doc ID 2917761.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 10, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Appsrv.log ($PS_CFG_HOME/appsrv/{domain_name}/LOGS/APPSRV.MMDD log) is seen generated in 2 locations, one under the Application Server domain directory structure and the other under the Process Scheduler, when the log locations are specified specific to the server.

Example: As seen in Application Server configuration file ($PS_CFG_HOME/appsrv/{domain_name}/psappsrv.cfg) Log Directory=%PS_LOGS_HOME%/APPS/<xxx>/<domain1>

and in Process Scheduler configuration file ($PS_CFG_HOME/appsrv/prcs/{domain_name}/psprcs.cfg) Log/Output Directory=%PS_LOGS_HOME%/PRCS/<xxx>/<domain1>/log_output

but the APPSRV.MMDD log file is seen under both, the Application Server domain and the Process Scheduler default directory structure.

Changing the location of the log file in both configuration files does not make a difference.
