ISIR File Load FAPSAR00 Call to SCC_PERSON Produces SCC_PERSON Log That is Truncated With the Message "Value too long for state field (108,511)" (Doc ID 2920903.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the ISIR File Load - FAPSAR00 Cobol process - there is a step to make an AE Call to SCC_PERSON. If and when this call is executed, the resulting SCC_PERSON .log file is truncated and shows the message "Value too long for state field (108,511)", followed by a line referencing AeStatUpdateStateField and indicating 'Exception Logged'.

If the SCC_PERSON call is working properly, the resulting log file should not indicate any errors or exception messages and should not be truncated prior to the last line which displays "Application Engine Program SCC_PERSON ended normally".

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > ISIR Import > Process ISIRs > ISIR File Load and run the process.
  2. In Process Monitor, note when the process ends in 'Success' status, then click the 'Details' link for the process instance, then the link that says 'View Log/Trace', then the link to the SCC_PERSON log file in the File List.
  3. Review the file and note the "Value too long for state field" message and the file is truncated prior to the line indicating that the process ended normally.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying the 2023-2024 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR ISIR, delivered originally in (PRP) Patch 33234548 and now in the latest CS 9.2 PUM Image starting with Image 27.
