E-PRCS Scheduled Job Ends in "No Success" Status With Error "Java Exception: java.lang.SecurityException: JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC" (Doc ID 2921506.1)

Symptoms

Custom Scheduled Job ends in Status "No Success" with error message "Java Exception: java.lang.SecurityException: JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC" in Message Log and and stdout file.

Replication steps:

1) Log into the affected Peoplesoft Environment;
2) Navigate to People Tools > Process Scheduler > Schedule JobSet Definitions;
3) Search for the custom job;
4) In the JobSet Definition Definition Tab click on "Run now" or wait for the job to trigger automatically;
5) Navigate to People Tools > Process Scheduler > Process Monitor 
6) Observe Job ends in status "No Success"; 
7) Error displayed in Message Log and stdout file "Java Exception: java.lang.SecurityException: JCE cannot authenticate the provider BC".

 

Changes

Critical Patch Update (CPU) patch was performed.
