E-IB: Pinging PSFT_BI_INTFC_XML Node on PT 8.60 Returns "Integration Gateway - HttpTargetConnector:ExternalApplicationException. Http status code HttpStatus" Error (Doc ID 2925638.1)

Symptoms

The sample site upgraded to PeopleTools (PT) 8.60.
After upgrading to PeopleTools (PT) 8.60, when pinging PSFT_BI_INTFC_XML node, the error below is seen on the PIA page. However, it works in PT 8.59 and earlier PeopleTools versions.

"Integration Gateway - HttpTargetConnector:ExternalApplicationException. Http status code HttpStatus".

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Log into PIA in a browser, and navigate to the Nodes page (navigation: PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Integration Setup > Nodes).
2. Open the PSFT_BI_INTFC_XML node, and press the "Ping Node" button.
3. Observe the error shown above.

 Upgraded to PT 8.60.xx.
