EPY: Will Peoplesoft Deliver Changes for the New Requirement for Reporting Zero Hours Reason Code for Washington State Unemployment Insurance (Doc ID 2930532.1)

Last updated on APRIL 15, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Employers who have employees in Washington (WA) need to start reporting a reason code for earnings not associated with hours for WA SUI(State Unemployment Insurance).

Is there anywhere in PeopleSoft (currently or pending a Tax Update/PUM) that will allow us to map our earnings codes to these reason codes?

The codes (as provided by our vendor ADP) are as follows:
A numeric code to be entered only when a wage is reported but the employee has zero hours:
• 22 = Sick Leave Payout
• 43 = Severance/Separation Pay/Settlement
• 44 = Tips/Gratuities
• 48 = Commercial Fishing
• 56 = Back Pay
• 61 = Royalties/Residuals
• 62 = Bonus
• 74 = Cafeteria Plan/401K Plan
• 76 = Commission
• 99 = Multiple of the reasons listed
• Blank = Other (warning) For WA SUI beginning 1Q23
