E-EOEN: EOEN_ALERT Takes a 10 Minute Break/Timeout and PeopleCode Delay If a Source Query Returns More Than 1 Row (Doc ID 2932828.1)

Last updated on MAY 18, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The EOEN_ALERT process takes 30 seconds for a query that returns 1 row, and over 10 minutes for a process based on a query with 3 rows. For a query that returns 1,250 rows, the IB Service Operations Monitor shows that EOEN was triggered 2,250 times on the instances/Subscription Contracts tab. The EOEN_ALERT application engine PeopleCode (see code snippet below) shows it takes a 10 minute timeout, and sets a PeopleCode delay or timeout whenever a source query returns more than 1 row.

Sample Environment:
----------------------
PT 8.59.06, 8.59.12
HCM 9.2 PUM 40, 42 and 44
MS SQL Server 2019

Sample Replication:
-------------------------
1. Navigate to Enterprise Components > Events & Notifications > Run Alerts
2. Select EOEN_ALERT and click Run
3. Observe the process takes a long delay before completing.
