Updates to Global Name Formatting For Format LAST_NAME, SUFFIX, FIRST_NAME, MIDDLE_NAME Does Not Provide Optimal Formatting With Spaces and Commas In the Proper Places. (Doc ID 2933328.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Campus Solutions 9.2.028,  There is no way to configure a standard format of Last (Suffix) comma space First Middle (smith jr, joseph). In order to allow for suffix which is variable, the only configuration option is to setup the comma as a pre-separator to the First name. This configuration creates a format of Last (suffix) space comma First, Middle (smith jr ,joseph). This format is not optimal.

It is expected commas and spaces can be set as desired.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Set Up Common Objects > Foundation Tables > Personal > Name Format Types
  2. Query a Name Format
  3. On each of the tabs (Display Name Configuration, Formal Name Configuration and PSFormat Name Configuration) review the "Space Before?" setting and adjust according to Institution preferences
  4. Save the changes
