Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Worksheet for Open Enrollment Shows Prior Year Year-to-Date Contributions When Off-Cycle Pay Period Is Similar to Last Pay Period of the Year (Doc ID 2937396.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The last pay period of the year as determined by the Pay End Date has a paycheck that will be issued in the new year, that is, after the Open Enrollment Event Date. If there is an off-cycle pay calendar that has a Pay Begin Date on or before that of the last pay period but with a check date prior to the Open Enrollment Event Date, year-to-date contributions for the year that is ending are shown on the Flexible Spending Account Worksheet, instead of showing 0.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

     1. Set Event Rule used for Open Enrollment for the calendar year to use Deduction Begin Date of Pay Period Preceding Event Date (Navigation: Set Up HCM > Product Related > Automated Benefits > Eligibility and Event Rules > Event Rules Table).
     2. Create Open Enrollment Events for the new year (Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > Run Automated Event Processing).
     3. Add an off cycle Pay Calendar with the same Begin Date of the pay period preceding the Open Enrollment Event Date (Navigation: Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing Controls > Pay Calendar Table).3.
     4. Employee navigates to Employee Self Service homepage > Open Enrollment tile > Benefits Enrollment step.
     5. Employee selects Flexible Spending Account tile.
     6. Employee opens Flexible Spending Account Worksheet.
     7. See the wrong year's year-to-date contributions.
