On Maintain Institutional Application Search Components, Attempting to Access Record with Chinese National ID Results in Being Logged out Application with 'An error has occurred.' Displayed on the Login Page (Doc ID 2949455.1)

Symptoms

Attempting to select a record on the Maintain Inst Appl NN/NN Search Component (e.g. Maintain Inst Appl 23/24) results in being logged out the application and taken back to the login page which displays 'An error has has occurred.'

So far, the issue has been reported to occur when the Profile record being accessed has a 17 digit Chinese National ID. The issue was initially reported and internally replicated on the 23/24 version of the component and Tools 8.60, but internal testing has confirmed it occurs on earlier Tools and the earlier year components also.  It is not yet clear if the issue may occur with other NID types other than the US SSN.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Institutional Application Data > Maintain Application 2023-2024.
  2. Select a student in the list where the National ID Country is 'CHN'.
  3. Note being logged out with the login page displaying 'An error has occurred.'
