Fluid Advising Notes Category Values Not Updating After Institution Change (Doc ID 2953562.1)

Last updated on JUNE 10, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Academic Advisement - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When the user attempts to add an Advising Note through the fluid My Advisees tile, if a student is active at more than one Institution, the Institution defaults by alphanumeric order even if the Advisor is not active at that Institution. When the Institution is changed, the Category drop-down displays the prior Institution’s Categories values and does not update to reflect the currently selected Institution’s values. This does not occur in the classic Advisor Center and the Categories drop-down accurately updates based on the selected Institution.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Activate the Student in PSUNV and GLAKE
2. Advisor is active only at PSUNV (has no advisees at GLAKE).
3. Configured Advising Note Category
  PSUNV – ACADADV Academic Advisement
  GLAKE – ENROLLMENT Academic Enrollment
4. Advisor Homepage > My Advisees > Advising Notes
Select Advising Note icon for the student
  Click “Create a Note”
  Institution defaults to Great Lakes
5. Category value lists Great Lake’s configured category “Academic Enrollment”
6. Change Institution to PSUNV
7. Category value still lists Great Lake’s configured category “Academic Enrollment” and does not show PSUNV “Academic Advisement” as an option.
8. There is no way to change values to display PS University’s Category
