ABMGT: "You are missing an Absence Name" Popup Error Occurs When User Attempts to Resubmit a Cancelled, Denied or Pushed-back Absence Request
(Doc ID 2954628.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When a user attempts to resubmit an Absence Request, which has been cancelled (by employee or manager/approver), pushed-back or denied by the manager/approver, the following error occurs:
Steps to Reproduce:
- User signs into Employee Self Service and clicks Time tile.
- User clicks the View Request tile and selects an event with the status of Cancelled, Denied or PushBack.
- The Absence Name is already populated and will remain the same; user may or may not modify the dates.
- User clicks the arrow button (PUM 45) or Apply Absence button (PUM 46).
- The above error message pops up and user must use the dropdown to choose the (same) Absence Name in order to proceed.
The error message is confusing to users. If the Absence Name already exists and user is not changing it, there should be no need to (re)choose a name.
Changes
Issue occurs after applying PUM 45 or PUM 46. PUM 45 introduced the new Manage Absences component.
This issue was discovered at PUM 45 and the solution was not completed in time for the delivery of PUM 46.
