After Applying Bug Fix 34669557, Class Search And Enroll Results Page Displays 'No results were returned. Please refine your search by entering a different keyword' When a Match is Expected on an Attribute Other Than Subject, Course, or Course Title (Doc ID 2957271.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Records - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Class Search, when searching using Keywords that should match on certain attributes, the View Search Results page instead shows no results, with the following message displayed:

Searches that match on Subject Code, Course, or Course Title will still return results. Any other match - such as on Requirement Designation, "Q Code", or any other Class Attribute - will not return results.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Sign in to Fluid and click on Manage Classes -> Class Search and Enroll.
  2. Enter a keyword(s) that will not match on Subject, Course, or Course Title but would normally match on some other search attribute.
  3. Note the Class Search results page displays no results returned, even though the keyword(s) used matches an item listed in one or more groups in the left side navigation.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying the fix for Bug 34669557 - CLASS SEARCH MAY DISPLAY COURSES THAT DON'T MATCH THE KEYWORD SEARCH, delivered in the CS 9.2 PUM Image starting with Image 9.2.28.
