E-AS: On 3 Tier App Designer WSL SSL Port Fails With, "Could not connect to application server xxxxxx. " (Doc ID 2958018.1)

Last updated on JULY 03, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Not able to open Application Designer in 3 tier mode using WSL SSL port. WSL port(10600) works fine, but WSL SSL port(10643) does not. With no firewall in the environment, there is no need of ports not being accessed, but the status of ports can be confirmed upon using netstat command (like netstat -n <port number>)

For example in <PS_HOME>/appserv/DomainName/psappsrv.cfg file,

[Workstation Listener]

===============

Address=%PS_MACH%

Port=10600

SSL Port=10643

[Oracle Wallet]

===========

SEC_PRINCIPAL_LOCATION=D:\Psoft\PSHOME\PT85x\bin\client\winx86\xxxx

SEC_PRINCIPAL_NAME=xxxx

SEC_PRINCIPAL_PASSWORD=xxxxxxxxxxxxx

On PeopleSoft Configuration Manager, settings provided are-

Connect Type- Application Server

Machine Name/IP Address-

Port Number-

Domain Connection Password-

Wallet Location-

Wallet Name-
