Service Indicator Linked to Service Impact TRAN Does not Stop Transcript from Generating for Inactive Students (Doc ID 2959968.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Records - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the process to generate a transcript, for a student assigned service indicator linked to the TRAN service impact, the transcript is generated for the student. This problem happens specifically when the student is Inactive on the Program/Plan stack.

The TRAN impact linked to the service indicator is expected to stop the transcript from being generated in all situations. Running the process from the Request Transcript Report component should result in a message saying 'This student has a service indicator. (14710,64)'. Running the process as the student from the Request Official Transcript page in Academic Records Self Service should result in a message saying 'You have a hold on your records. Select Go to Holds for details.'

The functionality works as expected when the student is Active on the Program/Plan stack.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. On Records and Enrollment > Career and Program Information > Student Program/Plan > Student Program, set a student to a program status other than 'Active in Program'. (Example: SPND action which will result in status 'Suspended'.)
  2. On Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Manage Service Indicators, assign the student a Service indicator linked to the impact TRAN, as displayed in the Services Impacted section of the page. In the Effective Period section, assign an appropriate start term and/or start date that will render the Service Indicator and impact in effect.
  3. On Navigate to SACR > Product Related > Student Records > Transcript > Define Transcript Type, for the transcript type to be generated, check the 'Check Service Indicators' box and enter TRAN in the service impacts field.
  4. Navigate to Records and Enrollment > Transcripts > Request Transcript Report, and generate the transcript from step 3 for the student, and observe the transcript is generated without any error or warning.

Note, this issue is new and separate from other previous similar issues involving the TRAN impact and transcript generation, such as documented in Note 2620685.1. Customers experiencing a similar issue, but not limited to just INACTIVE students, should check that other document and verify the fix from Image 27 has been applied.
