PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The Mass EFC Calculation process, SFA_NAC_PDRM - for calculating the Federal Student Aid Index (SAI) in batch - runs to success in the process scheduler. In reviewing the .stdout file created, the message 'GetMessageText: No default message. (0,0)' appears. Online, when invoking the process by clicking the 'Calc SAI' button on the Correct ISIR Component, the same message may or may not logged.
The message also may or may not be seen in conjunction with other messages, but in the cases where there is only the one message, the SAI/EFC's are correctly calculated by both the online and batch process.
The expectation is that the message should not be produced, if it is not needed, if the EFC calculation is truly successful, OR it should be more descriptive of any actual issue encountered. In its current form, the message is not clear and has caused at least one school to question if the results of the calculation could be completely trusted.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Financial Aid, File Management, Mass EFC Calculation;
- Select a run control;
- Populate the run control with the current Aid Year, such as 2024, and set Application Type to F;
- Submit the process to the process scheduler;
- When the process has finished, click on the Details hyperlink in the Process Monitor;
- Review the .stdout file, and note the reported message.
