(Doc ID 2970780.1)

Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
After running the DLOUT process to produce .XML files for Direct Loans (DL) to send to the Common Origination and Disbursement system (COD), and then running the CODIN process to load the response files sent back from COD, some files are found to be rejected in their entirety. The reason for the rejected status at the file level is listed as
1 | The value of element 'DependencyStatusCode' is not valid.
A further review of the files indicates that one or more students in the files were sent with dependency statuses of 'X' or 'Y'. As these are not valid values for the dependency field, the entire file was rejected; however, it is not clear how or why the values were populated this way and (therefore) the best process for fixing the files to be re-sent in a format that will be accepted.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > COD Full Participant > Generate Direct Loan Data > Direct Loan Outbound and run the process to produce the file for COD.
- Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > COD Full Participant > Import COD Response Data > Common Origination and Disbursement Inbound and run the process to load the response from COD.
- Navigate to Financial Aid > File Management > COD Full Participant > View COD Data > COD Document for the document that was processed and note the values for Document Status and Processing Status.
- Click 'Response Information' link to see the error details or reasons for the document rejection.
- Click COD Award tab and note one or more student rows indicate a value of 'X' or 'Y' for the Dependency Status field in the Award section.
