E-QRY: Access Queries Not Granted As Soon As Role Assigned To User ID Until Query Access List Cache Updated or Permission List Updated (Doc ID 2971397.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 30, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a role with a permission list containing a Query tree is newly assigned to a User ID, the user will see error messages on related pivot grid tiles. Also when the user goes to Query Manager or Query Viewer, the user does not have access to the queries used to produce the pivot grids where the new role contains the proper permissions indicating the new role did not take effect in this case.

The expected behavior is for the user to gain access to the queries as soon as the role is assigned.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Give users access to the pivot grids and new queries by adding a new role (PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles).
2. Then navigate to related Pivot Grid tile or try and access source Query in Query Manager.
3. Observe error in Pivot Grid tile or no access to the Query in Query Manager
