Page and Field Criteria Doesn't Work to Hide the Delete Button or Disable Entry of Effective Status for a Single Name Type row Within the 'Names' Link Sub-page on the Add/Update a Person Component (Doc ID 2974109.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Within the 'Names' link on the Add/Update a Person Page, the Delete button ('-') remains visible and the Effective Status remains editable, for a particular Name Type row, after using Page and Field configurator to apply criteria that was expected to hide the button and disable the entry for the field, respectively.

In the Page and Field configurator, if the criteria is subsequently deleted, but the Configure Field Properties is left as it was before, the Names link sub-page shows the status field now disabled as expected on the row, but the delete button is missing on ALL name type rows and not just the specified one.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Enterprise Components > Page and Field Configuration > Page and Field Configurator.
  2. Identify the Component Name NAMES_PERS  and Add a New Value.
  3. In Criteria section, add a row.
  4. Select Page Field NAME_TYPE with criteria Equals and specify the value for the name type row where the changes should apply - for example 'LEG' if the goal is to modify the legal name type row.
  5. In the Configure Field Properties, check the 'Hide Field' box for the DELETE_PB field and the 'Disable Entry' box for EFF_STATUS.
  6. Go to Map to Portal Registry > Apply Configuration and Save.
  7. Navigate to Campus Community > Add/Update a Person > Click on Names Hyperlink, and note the '-' icon is still visible and the Effective status still editable for the name type row specified in step 4.
  8. Go back to Page and Field Configurator and remove the Criteria previously entered., but do not modify the Configure Field Properties.
  9. Go back to the Names link page on Add/Update a Person and note the status is now read only on the Legal name type row but the '-' icon is now missing on ALL rows.
