Group Post (SFPGRPST) Response Time is Degraded (Doc ID 2976551.1)

Symptoms

The Group Post batch process occasionally experiences poor performance when posting a group. As an example, it took 5 hours to post transactions to 81 students.  The issue is sporadic. Some Group Post processes run in an acceptable amount of time.

It is expected that Group Post should complete in a timely manner for all groups.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Student Financials, Charges and Payments, Group Processing, Post Transactions;
  2. Select a run control;
  3. Complete the run control with the group id's to be posted;
  4. Submit the process to the process scheduler;
  5. Note the length of time taken until the process is finished.
