Question regarding Chapter 5 – “Workstation Installation” from PeopleTools installation documentation.
Reference pages 115-116.
“The person performing the installation must have read access to the PS_HOME directory”

Question 1. Does the statement above also apply to users who might use locally installed 2-tier client tools such as application designer, PS query, PS nVision, PS Datamover? Or is that requirement limited only to the installation user?

Question 2. Recent (last 10 years) changes to PeopleTools installation “best practices” have recommended that what was once referred to as “PS_HOME” now be “split” into an application home, a tools home, a configuration home and a customization home. With reference to the screenshot below from Configuration Manager, does the above statement refer to ALL four PS homes or only certain ones? (*For example for our local client installation that might look like this:V:\PSOFT9\FS\APP92PT85905\PS_HOME\ * tools V:\PSOFT9\FS\APP92PT85905\PS_APP_HOME\ * appV:\PSOFT9\FS\APP92PT85905\PS_CFG_HOME\ * config/logsV:\PSOFT9\FS\APP92PT85905\PS_CUST_HOME\ * customizations

Question 3. Is “read” access the only access required OR is there a higher level of access required for some functionality?
