E-DPK: Creating PIA Domain With Response File Sets The Wrong Admin Password If Backslash Is Used (Doc ID 2977543.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.59 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Trying to silently create a PIA domain running ps_home\PsMpPIAInstall\setup.bat -i silent -DRES_FILE_PATH=D:\EA-Admin\conf\response_file.txt >> D:\EA-Admin\log\PIA_hrzapret_tst.log

The response file has USER_PWD field containing a backslash character ("\"). It has been noticed that the admin console user password will not be the one in the file.

When trying to connect to WebLogic console the following error message is received:

"Authentication denied
The username or password has been refused by WebLogic server
Please try again"

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. In the response file enter Weblogic user and password - password containing "\" character
2. Silently create PIA domain
3. Try to login to WebLogic console using the user and pass from the response file
4. Receive error message
