EAM: Why Does the System Not Give a Warning or an Error Message While Creating an Asset With Uselife Which is More Than the Detailed Calendar Defined? (Doc ID 2977838.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 05, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Asset Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

An asset is created with the use of 480 months( 40 years) and straight-line depreciation method is used. However, the system calculated the depreciation for 454 months instead of the correct 480 months.

Later it was found that the detailed calendar used is not having enough calendar range, extending the years in the detailed calendar calculated depreciation correctly.

Why does the system not give a warning or an error message while creating an asset with uselife which is more than the detailed calendar defined?
