Early Financial Aid Offer Component Search View is Missing a Join on Application Number (ADM_APPL_NBR), Resulting in not Returning All Rows for Students with Multiple Admissions Applications or 'No matching values were found.' for Some Application Numbers (Doc ID 2977949.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2023

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to look up certain specific application numbers on the Early Aid Offer component the result is "No matching values were found".

This result occurs specifically for students who have multiple admissions applications under the same career.  When further researching the logic behind the view table ERLY_FA_O_SRCH, it is found to be missing the reference ADM_APPL_NBR, resulting in only one row returned for each combination of career, career number, and program number.

The expectation is that a row should be returned for every application that is accessible on the Maintain Applications component in admissions - which is includes ADM_APPL_NBR in the search criteria.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Student Admissions > Application Maintenance > Maintain Applications, for a student with multiple active applications within a career.
  2. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > Early Financial Aid Awards > Offer Early Financial Aid > Early Financial Aid Offer for the same student, and note that only one of the application numbers from the previous step comes up.
  3. Note that if the search is performed based on the application number present in step 1 but not present in step 2, the result is 'No matching values were found.'.
