Symptoms
Not able to Setup the Assignment template for Activity Guide , as the error appear when clicking on Edit button :
First operand of . is NULL, so cannot access member Len. (180,236) AGC_UTILITIES.Assignment.TemplateAssignmentSetup.OnExecute Name:SearchKeyModalPageActivate PCPC:4912 Statement:70
Called from:AGC_TMA_TBL2_SEC.Activate Statement:1
The first operand of the dot operator is the NULL value, indicating the lack of any object value. As a consequence, the given method or property cannot be used.
Issue can be replicated following the next steps :
1.Assign the user VP1 the roles : AG Composer Administrator, Questionnaire Composer, Questionnaire Administrator- PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles.
2.Create the Questionnaire Category = TSTCAT -Enterprise Component > Questionnaire Framework > Questionnaire Setup > Questionnaire Categories.
3.Go to Enterprise Component > Questionnaire Framework > Manage Questionnaires and create two (2) Questionnaires:
3.1.Questionnaire Name = TEST1 (1st) and Category = TSTCAT
3.1.1. Add 2 questions.
3.1.2.Activate Questionnaire.
3.2.Clone Questionnaire TEST1 and create Questionnaire Name = TEST2 and Category = TSTCAT
3.2.1.Add a new question and delete the previous 2 .
3.2.2. Activate it.
4.Go to Enterprise Component > Activity Guide Composer > Activity AG Composer> Activity Guide Utilities>Clone AG Composer Category and Clone delivered Activity Guide (AG) Category QST0000001 to TST_AGCAT.
5.Open cloned AG Category TST_AGCAT and add the two (2) questionnaires to Activity Guide Category - Enterprise Component > Activity Guide Composer > Activity AG Composer Categories.
6.Delete the existing steps and add 2 new ones EOQF_QSTN_GRP and EOQF_QSTN_GRP1.
7.Go to Enterprise Component > Activity Guide Composer > AG Composer Templates and Create two (2) templates for the AG Category. One template using both questionnaires & another template using only one questionnaire:
7.1. Template = AGTMP01 and Questionnaire = TEST1 with the Step- test1
7.2. Clone the AG Composer Template and create Template = AGTMP02 Questionnaire = test1 and test 2 (steps)
8.The template AGTMP02 is already activate. Deactivate and Re-activate.
9.Set up values in STRINGS_TBL referring to both AG templates used, by adding values in STRINGS_TBL by navigating to PeopleTools > Utilities > Administration > Strings Table.
10.Add STRINGS_TBL as search key source table for template assignment ( Menu > Enterprise Components> Activity Guide Composer> Activity Guide Utilities>AG Composer Search Keys Source).
11.Set up LABEL_ID filed from STRINGS_TBL as source field for search key: (Menu > Enterprise Components> Activity Guide Composer> Activity Guide Utilities> AG Composer ASGNMt Search Keys).
12.Enter search keys for the template assignment definition TST_AGCAT – (Enterprise Components > Activity Guide Composer > Activity Guide Utilities > AG Composer Tmplt Asgnmt).
13.When Going to Template Assignment tab and click on Edit button for either of the templates AGTMP01 and AGTMP02 , the error message appears :
