On Student Budget Maintenance, Amounts in 'Pell Amt' and/or 'Pell Less Half Annual Amount' Columns are Less Than Expected (Doc ID 2980794.1)

Symptoms

When reviewing students' assigned budgets on the Student Budget Maintenance page, the amounts assigned to the 'Pell Amt' or 'Pell Less Half Annual Amount' or both are less than expected.

The amounts assigned to these fields should always represent the full annual costs, not the costs for the single term (or any other amount less than the full annual amount).

The number or percentage of the students and/or Pell budget categories affected may vary. In some cases, the issue is seen with many or most students and/or categories; and in other cases, only a smaller subset of students and/or categories.

The issue is different from other similar issues documented, since the environment is caught up on budget fixes, at least through PUM Image 22; the students were not all budgeted manually; the students are enrolled (or projected to enroll) and budgeted for all terms in the academic period; and the students are not budgeted for a summer term that is defined as academic instead of non-standard.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Budgets > Maintain Term Budgets > Student Budget Maintenance.
  2. Review the amounts assigned in the 'Pell Amt' or 'Pell Less Half Annual Amount' fields, and note when these do not represent the full annual amounts.
