When Should the Entity Property Sync and Wipe Entity Cache Steps be Completed After Applying Financial Aid Fixes? (Doc ID 2981181.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In the process of or after applying new Financial Aid application fixes, when should the Entity Property Sync and Wipe Entity Cache steps be completed, if there is not any specific indication in Change Assistant (CA) or any documentation that the steps are necessary?

In one recent instance, the context for the question was that Financial Aid fixes were selectively adopted from CS 9.2 PUM Image 30. There was not a step in CA or any documentation indicating the requirement to run Entity Sync or wipe cache. However, when testing after the application of the fixes, it was found that the Federal Methodology Need Analysis Calculator (FM NAC) was no longer working to calculate/prorate any EFC's. Running Entity Sync and wiping Entity Cache resolved this problem.

Instances like this one make it unclear exactly when the Entity steps should be completed and raise doubts on whether there could be other steps needed that were not mentioned in the documentation or CA.
