Adjustment Calendar Setup to Adjust By Session Does Not Adjust the Correct Amount When Student Drops Dynamically Dated Class (Doc ID 2981490.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 25, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Financials - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Students who dropped classes in a dynamically dated session prior to the first day of class did not get the prescribed 100% refund.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Select a class in a dynamically dated session with a class start date in the 30 days after the session start date:

1. Create an adjustment calendar to adjust 100% of fees using the Option to "Adjust on Session" up until the 10th day of the session.

Setup SA CR > Product Related > Student Financials > Tuition and Fees > Adjustment Calendar.

2.  Create a class fee for the  class  and use the adjustment calendar you just created on the class fee.

Setup SA CR  Product Related > Student Financials > Course and Class Fees > Class Fees.

3.  On Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Enrollment Request.

Enroll a student in the dynamically dated class; for this test, it is recommended to back date the add to the 1st day of the session.

4.  Calculate tuition  to post the class fee - Student Financials > Tuition and Fees >  Calc Tuition.

5.  Drop the student from the class with a drop date that is prior to the class start date but 12 days after the session start.

6.  Calculate tuition to  adjust the class fee Student Financials > Tuition and Fees Calc Tuition.

Note that no adjustment has been made even though the class has not yet begun
