ERS 9.2: ExcelToCI2007.xlsm Interfacing RS_ASSIGN_BC CI Assignment Cancellation Data Throws Error Message "First Operand of . Is NULL, So Cannot Access Member TerminateRunningProcess. (180,236)" if AssignmentDateApproval Workflow Is Enabled (Doc ID 2984145.1)

Having enabled the AssignmentDateApproval AWE workflow at the Resource Management Options set up level, the system will throw Error Message (180,236) around delivered Component Interface RS_ASSIGN_BC when trying to update an existing Resource Assignment into a Canceled Status from the ExcelToCI2007.xlsm spreadsheet file.

This is working fine if the AssignmentDateApproval workflow is not enabled, resulting with the Resource Assignment being properly cancelled, the Resource's Schedule cleared, and the Project's Team updated accordingly.


    1.- Log into the FSCM Online Application as a Resource User
    2.- Navigate to: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Business Unit Related > Resource Management > SetUp RM BU Options
    3.- Open Set ID SHARE, and make sure the below settings are defined:
            a) Use Approval Workflow Engine = Y
            b) Status Approval Process ID = (Blank)
            c) Date Change Approval Process ID = AssignmentDateApproval
    4.- Save the changes
    5.- Navigate to: Project Costing > Project Definitions > Define Project General Info
    6.- Proceed to create a new Project ID OSS_PROJECT under Business Unit US001
    7.- Navigate to: Project Costing > Activity Definitions > Define Project Activities
    8.- Define a new Project Activity under new Project ID OSS_PROJECT
    9.- Navigate to: Resource Management > Assign Resource
    10.- Create a new Assignment transaction with the below information:
            - Employee ID = RS00000001
            - Project Role = PROJ CONSULTANT
            - Status = Assign
            - Description = OSS Project Assignment
            - Category = Billable External
            - Business Unit = US001
            - Project ID = OSS_PROJECT
            - Customer ID = 1000
            - Location = MAIN
            - Contact = 1
            - Project Role = PROJ CONSULTANT
            - Start Date = 08/01/2023
            - End Date = 08/31/2023
            - Hours = 8
    11.- Save the transaction, and confirm that the message states that the Calendar Entries have been created successfully
    12.- Open the ExcelToCI2007.xlsm spreadsheet file
    13.- At the Connect Information tab, ensure all the connectivity settings are defined properly to interface with the PeopleSoft database, and an Action of UPDATEDATA
    14.- On the Template tab, proceed to import delivered RS_ASSIGN_BC Component Interface, and select all desired Input Cells
    15.- At the Data Input tab, ensure to fill in all the data needed for the existing Assignment ID recently created, with the difference that the Assignment Status will have a value of X (Canceled)
    16.- Click on the 'Stage Data for Submission' button
    17.- At the 'Staging & Submission' tab, click on the 'Submit Data' button
    18.- Fill in the User ID and Password on the pop-up login window
    19.- Click OK button
    20.- PROBLEM: The system flags the row with an Error

No Assignments can be cancelled via ExcelToCI2007.xlsm spreadsheet interface, or alike methods, (such as Application Engine Program), as the Error Message prevents all possible further processing of the needed updates.

The Assignment Cancellation via the RS_ASSIGN_BC delivered Component Interface using the ExcelToCI2007.xlsm spreadsheet should complete all needed tasks: Cancel the Assignment, clear the Resource's Schedule, and update the Project Team accordingly.
