SFP: Packaging Start Date Event Message Needed for Subsequent Programs
When a student completes their first undergraduate program and begins a subsequent undergraduate program, there is no change in career nor SAFI program type between the Graduated SAFI that is created for the completed program and the active SAFI that is generated for the second program. Currently, a Packaging Start Date event message is not sent for this second program. All courses from the first program are included in the SAFI for the second program.
As a result, the second program's SAFI packages "backwards" to encompass all the years represented in the SAFI which has the undesired effect of disbursing duplicate aid between enrollments and calculating SAP for prior terms. This is the expected SFP behavior. The guidance in this scenario is to load a Packaging Start Date event message with the Enrollment ID or Program Code of the second program that indicates when the student should begin packaging regardless of the courses in the SAFI.
