E-PIA: Pagelet of HTML DataType is Showing Extra Special Characters Like ']>' on Published Pagelet and Pagelet Wizard in PT 8.60 (Doc ID 2986165.1)

Symptoms

Getting special character like “]>” on the Pagelet wizard for HTML Type Pagelets on Pagelet wizard and published Pagelets in PT 8.60

Steps to Replicate the issue:

  1. Navigate to Peopletools > Portal > Utilities > Pagelet Wizard.
  2. Create an html pagelet through pagelet wizard. Ensure to set the datasource as HTML
  3. Enter HTML content in RTE Editor Long Edit Box, for ex: Add an URL as "www.examp**.com and save it
  4. On Pagelet Preview (Wizard Step 5), Special Characters ]> appears above the HTML content
