Symptoms

Grants Portal Burn Rate value is not calculated as expected when the award end date is in the future.

Replication Steps:

  1. Create a Proposal, Submit it, and Generate an award by checking the "Add to Grants Portal" check box. (Grants > Proposals > Maintain Proposals).
  2. Create and Finalize the budgets.
  3. Create expense transactions.
  4. Enable Transaction Source as Project in the Grants Portal Installation options (Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Install > Installation Options - Grants Portal).
  5. Run GM_PT_STAGE Process (Grants> Grants Portal > Staging Data > Portal Stage Award & Proj Data).
  6. Navigate to Grants > Grants Portal > Project Information > GM Portal Project Detail Info and open a project. Notice the burn rate. For a Project with the following information, the burn rate was calculated as -15. The expectation is that it shows up as -11 (Rounded value for -10.93136211)

Following is the analysis of data for the project in question.

The Remaining Amount  is shown as 166,927.87

The budgeted Amount is shown as 1,139,350.81

The beginning date of the award is 8/1/19

The End Date of the award is 12/31/23

System Date is  11/1/23

The formula used for burn rate calculation is Burn Rate =( (-1) * REMAINING_AMOUNT / BUDGETED_AMT ) * 100.00 WHERE END_DT <= SYSDATE. The result is -11.
