Employees Reporting Up Through Empty Position Not Found on the Company Directory (Doc ID 2986932.1)

Symptoms

Employees who report up through a vacant position on the Company Directory are not returned when they are searched in the Company Directory.

Note that names used below represent fictitious individuals.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Login to PeopleSoft.
  2. Go to: Company Directory
  3. Enter an Employee name, e.g., Betty Locherty, in the Search field and click Run Search button (arrow icon).
  4. The search results displays the Employee (Position: 19000230) which reports to Jean Parsons (Position: 19000200) which reports to Douglas Lewis (Position: 19000001)
  5. Terminate Jean Parsons.
  6. Go to: Set Up HCM > Common Definitions > Direct Reports For Managers > Build Direct Reports Table
  7. Do c complete rebuild of the table.
  8. Go to: Set Up HCM > Common Definitions > Org Chart Viewer > Tree Builder Run Control
  9. Run the process using Build Action: Create/Replace Tree, Tree Structure ID: Company Directory, Build Method: By Reports to Position, Include Empty Positions not selected, Start Node: KU0001.
  10. Go to: PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration > Schedule Search Index.
  11. Run the process using Search Definition: HC_HR_COMPANY_DIRECTORY1, Indexing Type: Full Index
  12. Go to: Company Directory.
  13. Search Betty Locherty and see that no record is returned.
