Symptoms

When starting the application server, a higher number of process server instances than configured are started.
For example: In the Application Server configuration file (<PS_CFG_HOME/appserv/<Domain>/psappsrv.cfg), for the PSAPPSRV server process, UBBGEN is set to 2 for min/max instances. However, when starting the Application Server, 20 PSAPPSRV server process instances are started.
