Last updated on DECEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Payables - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When going to Data Export Import Request page and try to add a file with an extension that is not allowed, the system is not throwing any error message.

The following error message should appear : “ File Transfer failed because the file extension is not allowed.(18036,10024). Please contact your System Administrator in regards to File Extension Lists.”

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Navigate to Main Menu-> Peopletools-> Utilities -> Administration -> Administer File Processing-> File Extension List and Add a new value.

2. Select extension list type as absolute and add .csv file alone to the accepted extension list and save.

3. Navigate to Main Menu-> Peopletools->Utilities-> Administration-> URLs and select DEIU_FILE_IMPORT URL.

4. Add the newly created extension list to the URL properties and save.

5. Navigate to Main Menu-> Setup Financials/Supply Chain-> Common definitions-> Data Export Import Utility-> Data Export Import Request and add a new value.

6. In the new page selected any Map ID available. Try to attach .csv file and .exe file. Since .csv file was added to the accepted extension list >It gets uploaded and .exe file should not get uploaded.

An error message as mentioned below to get popped up when .exe file gets attached should appear.

”File Transfer failed because the file extension is not allowed.(18036,10024). Please contact your System Administrator in regards to File Extension Lists.”

More information can be found in the attached replication document.
