Last updated on JANUARY 11, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise SCM Purchasing - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When add or remove Sales Tax on already budget checked Purchase Order, the PO Encumbrance Balance is not getting updated.

An update to Sales Tax on an already budget checked PO needs to be included in the Encumbrance Balance, however, updating Sales Tax does not reset the Budget Status from ‘Valid’ to ‘Not Checked’. This prevents re-budget check of the PO in order to get the Sales Tax update included in the PO Encumbrance Balance.

Steps:

#1

-Enter a new PO with sales tax then budget check to status Valid [Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Add/Update PO's]

-Update Sales Tax on po line to Exempt, Save

-Try to re-budget check, however, cannot re-budget check as budget status is already Valid

-Next change a chartfield, which changes budget status to Not Checked

-Can now re-budget check PO

-Still does not update Encumbrance Balance on PO with sales tax removal

-Still shows sales tax amount in Review Budget Details

#2

-Next change item price & re-budget check [Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Add/Update PO's]

-Encumbrance Balance now correctly excludes sales tax

#3

-Next add sales tax to already budget checked PO and click Save. [Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Add/Update PO's]

-Note: does not allow re-budget check since budget status already Valid

#4

-Next change line price and re-budget check [Purchasing > Purchase Orders > Add/Update PO's]

-Encumbrance Balance now correct and includes Sales Tax

-Correctly shows Sales tax in Review Budget Details

(then must change line price back to original price and re-budget check)
