Symptoms

When accessing the Elasticsearch server in the browser, over SSL, the response is displayed properly, but the following error is observed in the cluster log file (<ES_HOME>/logs/<ES Cluster Name>.log):

caught exception while handling client http traffic, closing connection Netty4HttpChannel{localAddress=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0:9200, remoteAddress=null}
io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Client requested protocol TLSv1 is not enabled or supported in server context

Changes

After SSL is configured in the Elastic Search server.
