Symptoms

The Build FA Term in Batch process (FAPTRMU1) is ending in Error status, with the COBOL output log file showing the following error message:

Object Code error : file 'FAPTRMU1'
error code: 48, pc=0, call=1, seg=0
 48 Attempt to divide by zero

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid, Financial Aid Term, Create FA Term Driver Records;
  2. Select a run control;
  3. Populate the run control and submit the process to the process scheduler;
  4. The process runs to success;
  5. Navigate to Financial Aid, Financial Aid Term, Build FA Term in Batch;
  6. Select a run control, and populate it for the Aid Year;
  7. Submit the process to the process scheduler;
  8. The process fails, and the following error is noted in the COBOL output log file.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying fixes related to Patch 35043037: 2024-2025 ISIR Update: FAFSA Simplification, from Campus Solutions 9.2 PUM 31 (or the earlier PRP where the fixes were first delivered). These fixes include updates to the Financial Aid Term COBOL, to account for the new Enrollment Intensity field.
