E-AD: Custom Style Sheets for Page Fields Properties Are Not Populating in 8.60 if Page Properties Stylesheet Is Not Defined Explicitly (Doc ID 3009006.1)

Last updated on MARCH 12, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.60 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In PeopleTools (PT) 8.55 a stylesheet is only set at the page field properties on a Push Button. When doing so, the stylesheet drop-down custom style class "***_CSS_************" appears below it.

This sub-stylesheet was part of the custom ***_PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN stylesheet.

Note that on the page properties, no stylesheet was chosen for the page Stylesheet, and it is set to 'use default stylesheet'.

In PT 8.60 upgraded instance, page field properties on the Push Button do not show the style class even though it exists in the database. It is also not auto-populating, and this page field is not being rendered as per the stylesheet.

But, if "**_PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN stylesheet" is explicitly selected on the page properties, then when arriving to the page field properties, "**_CSS_*****" starts to appear.

Note: The issue is only with custom stylesheets and worked in PT 8.55

The issue can be replicated using the steps below:

==================================================

1. Open the existing standard stylesheet ‘PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN’, and save the duplicate (click on File > Save As) stylesheet name with the name ‘B_PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN’.

2. Click on ‘Insert’ from the AppDesigner Toolbar, and click on ‘Insert Style Class’.

3. Observe that the style class 'B_PSSTYLE_MN' has been inserted into the custom stylesheet.

4. Randomly open a delivered page which has a push button field.

5. Try using the custom styleclass value B_PSSTYLE_MN in the page field properties, but notice that it does not appear in the dropdown.

6. Set the page properties in the use tab, and enter the custom style sheet name ‘Page stylesheet name’ as PSSTYLEDEF_SWAN.

7. Observe that now the custom style class is found in the dropdown at the Page field level.
