ELM 9.2: After Building the indexes LS_LM_ACT_CI Or LS_LM_ACT_CI_FL Find Learning Page Returns No Results for Courses (Doc ID 3011698.1)

Last updated on MARCH 20, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise ELM Enterprise Learning Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Learners can not find any courses within the catalog search, even though the index update process ran without errors.

The use of the Search Test Page for the LS_LM_ACT_CI and LS_LM_ACT_CI_FL indexes shows no results regardless of the language (this is not the case for the LS_LM_PRG or LS_LM_PRG_FL indexes).
The use of the same page for the LS_LM_LEARNING and LS_LM_LEARNING_FL shows only results related to the LS_LM_PRG or LS_LM_PRG_FL indexes.

The following actions have been performed to correct the issue without success:
- Undeploy the LS_LM_ACT_CI and LS_LM_ACT_CI_FL search objects, deploy them again, and re-created the indexes
- Undeploy all search objects, stop/start the ES service before deploying again and re-creating indexes
- Undeploy all search objects, stop the ES service, rename Elasticsearch data folder for backup, start the ES service, and deploy again, re-created indexes

As a temporary workaround, the security related to the LS_LM_ACT_CI and LS_LM_ACT_CI_FL search objects was removed to return results.

Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. When a user goes to the "Find Learning" page (My Learning (workspace) > Find Learning (Tile)) without specifying any search, they can only see the "Curriculum" and "Certification" learning types.
2. There are no courses shown.
