INAS NCP for Aid Year 2024-2025 Not Calculating and/or Storing the Correct 'Non-Custodial BAP Base Adjustment' Contribution Totals Based on Percent From Income
(Doc ID 3015526.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 20, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When calculating the Institutional Methodology (IM) Non-Custodial Parent Contribution (NCP) for Aid Year 2025, using the IM Cloud functionality, the 'Non-Custodial BAP Base Adjustment information' section on the Computation Summary tab is not showing the correct amounts in the Contribution fields.
The 'Percent From Income' field is calculated correctly, and based on that, it's expected that the other 'Contribution' fields should reflect that percentage of the 'Contribution' amounts shown in the 'IM Options Non-Custodial Parents Contribution' section, immediately above the BAP (Biological/Adoptive Parent) section. Instead, all of the other BAP amounts are identical to the total amounts and not adjusted based on the 'Percent From Income'.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. On Financial Aid > Institutional Application Data > Maintain Application 2024-2025> Non Custodial Parent Data confirm the following:
a. Under the section for Parents' Income and Benefits, Base (Prior Prior Year), enter different non-zero amounts in Parent1 Earned Income and Parent2 Earned Income.
b. Under the section for Parents' Information, ensure the 'Parent Type' fields are set appropriately to identify which is the biological parent.
2. Click 'INAS NCP'.
3. Switch to Computation Summary tab, scroll to the bottom, and review the 'Non-Custodial BAP Base Adjustment' section compared to 'IM Options Non-Custodial Parents Contribution'. Note the percent from income is correctly calculated (based on data from step 1a) but the other BAP figures are not adjusted based on the percent.
Changes
The issue occurs after applying the 2024-2025 Aid Year Setup for Institutional Methodology (IM), which first delivered the ability to calculate the IM EFC for Aid Year 2024-2025. These fixes, originally delivered in PRP 35266241, are now incorporated in the Campus Solutions 9.2 Image, starting with Image 9.2.31.
